5ire is a sleek AI assistant and MCP client built around simplicity and user-friendliness, with an intuitive interface meant to be easy even for novice users. It supports a range of model providers, including OpenAI, Azure, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, DeepSeek, and Ollama, and is available for Mac (Silicon and Intel), Windows, and Linux, with a Homebrew option on macOS.
Beyond conversation, 5ire lets users connect AI models to tools and data through MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, an open standard for providing context to LLMs. It also includes a local knowledge base that parses and vectorizes DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, PDF, TXT, and CSV files using the bge-m3 embedding model to support retrieval-augmented generation locally. Additional features include usage analytics for tracking API spending, a prompt library with variable support, conversation bookmarks, and keyword search across all conversations.
