8x8 Work for Desktop (formerly known as the Virtual Office desktop app) helps you stay connected with colleagues and business contacts. You can place, receive, and manage calls from your computer, review your call history, automatically record incoming and outgoing calls, and forward calls to other extensions, outside numbers, or voicemail.

For communication, the app offers instant messaging with coworkers and business contacts, SMS with external contacts, and team messaging through public or private chat rooms for projects and tasks. You can also send and manage faxes, access and organize your contacts (including favorites and personal contacts), and let others see your availability through automatic and manual presence.

The app includes web, video, and audio conferencing for meetings with colleagues or external participants. It is available in multiple languages, including Dutch, English (UK and US), Finnish, French (Canada and France), German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Spain), and Swedish.
