About
A Better Finder Attributes is a Mac app for fixing the dates and attributes of photos, videos and files in bulk. It can set, shift or copy shooting dates (EXIF, QuickTime and RAW formats), file creation and modification dates, and EXIF, IPTC and GPS tags, so that a folder of photos sorts correctly in the Finder and Photos. It can also strip metadata before a delivery, add copyright and artist tags to many files at once, and set Finder flags. Users can remove housekeeping files such as .DS_Store and AppleDouble files to the Bin, and save settings as droplets for reuse.
The workflow is drop, choose, preview, apply: files or folders are dragged in, an action is selected, and every file is listed with its current and new dates in a preview pane. Nothing is written until the user clicks Perform Changes. The app is a one-time purchase at $29.95 for a single user, with a free trial and a 60-day money-back guarantee. It runs on macOS 15 to 27 on Intel and Apple silicon, and is made by developer Frank Reiff, who has supported it since 1996.
