About
Amazon Chime is a communications app for Mac and other devices that lets you chat, call, and attend meetings with colleagues. After you sign up with your work email address, you can add contacts, start one-on-one or group chats with features such as read and delivery receipts, file attachments, emojis, search, and persistent threads synced across your devices. You can also move from a chat to a video call with a single click, share ideas, files, and images in the Meeting Chat, and use the Visual Roster to see attendee status, mute attendees who add unwanted sound, and share your screen.
You can also join meetings without installing the app by using the Amazon Chime Web Application from a meeting invite link. Before joining, you can choose to connect audio through your computer, a phone dial-in or a call-back, or another connected audio source. You can also claim a personalized meeting link for instant or scheduled meetings, and set default audio and video devices, which are retained when you exit the app.
Note that, according to the website, AWS ended support for the Amazon Chime service on February 20, 2026. Amazon Chime can still be used in special cases to join meetings, and the website notes this does not affect the Amazon Chime SDK service.
