About
Amiberry is an Amiga emulator built on the WinUAE core, offering full Amiga compatibility across ARM, x86, RISC-V, and LoongArch64 hardware. It runs on Linux, macOS, Windows, Android, FreeBSD, and Haiku, and the site presents it as a free and open source project licensed under GPLv3. On macOS, it can be installed via Homebrew (Intel and Apple Silicon) with `brew install --cask amiberry`, or downloaded as a .dmg.
Amiberry's listed features include a custom JIT compiler for ARM64 and x86-64 for faster emulation, WHDLoad support for launching titles with automatic configuration, custom bezels and CRT-style shader effects including external GLSL shaders, and RetroArch-compatible controller mapping. It also offers a mouse- or gamepad-navigable GUI, drag-and-drop loading of floppy, hard file, and config files, and a built-in update checker with SHA256-verified downloads.
The project accepts bug reports, feature suggestions, and pull requests on GitHub, and it is supported by sponsorship tiers and corporate partners. Documentation, including a wiki and build-from-source guides, is available on the project website.
