About
AppBox is a Mac app for distributing iOS Development, Ad-Hoc and In-house (Enterprise) builds directly to devices. You connect your own Dropbox account, drop in an .ipa, and AppBox returns a short install link you can email, post to Slack, Microsoft Teams or Google Chat, or share as a QR code that testers scan to install.
AppBox 4.0 is rebuilt in Swift and SwiftUI and includes a new command-line tool, appboxcli, which uses the same Dropbox session as the app and can be used to upload, list and delete builds from a terminal or CI. The site also describes a Fastlane plugin for automating uploads. Builds are hosted in your own Dropbox, and the site states there are no install limits, no upload size limit with chunked uploads that resume after network drops, and install links that do not expire until you delete the build. Older versions remain available to testers from the same install page.
AppBox is free and open source and requires macOS 15 Sequoia or later. It can be installed with a script, through Homebrew, or by downloading the app directly from GitHub.
