About
AppVolume is a Mac app for simple, reliable volume control. You can adjust each app's volume from 0% to 200%, mute any app with one click, pin your favorite apps to the top, and set a global keyboard shortcut for quick access from the menu bar. Volume settings are saved and restored automatically, and you can select multiple apps for bulk changes.
AppVolume also handles audio details: it supports sample rates from 44.1kHz to 192kHz, offers device switching that follows macOS or your preferred order, and does not show a purple recording indicator in the menu bar because it does not record audio. It is built with Rust for the audio engine, SwiftUI for the native interface, and CoreAudio for capturing and mixing audio at the driver level.
AppVolume is available for macOS on both Apple Silicon and Intel, and can be downloaded from the website or installed via Homebrew. It is free during Early Access, and the site offers 50% off at launch.
