Araxis Merge is a file and folder comparison and merging application for Windows and macOS. It supports two-way and, in the Professional Edition, three-way file comparison and merging, which is useful for software engineers, web developers, and teams reconciling changes against a common ancestor. Users can compare text in source code, XML, and HTML files, with colour-coded side-by-side views, linking lines, point-and-click merging, and an in-place editor with unlimited undo. Merge can also extract and compare text from Microsoft Office, OpenDocument, PDF, and RTF files, and it supports image and byte-level binary comparison.

For folder work, Merge provides folder hierarchy comparison and synchronization, including comparison of archive formats such as .zip and .tar as if they were folders. The Professional Edition adds three-way folder comparison with automatic merging. For auditors and quality control managers, the application can create standalone HTML or XML reports of changes, and file comparisons can include bookmarks and comments saved as a single-file archive for sharing with team members.
