About
AriaX is a download manager built specifically for the Apple ecosystem (macOS and iOS). Written in SwiftUI, it aims for a native, responsive interface, and it combines the aria2 download engine with Apple-style design. The full version includes a built-in, pre-configured aria2 engine, so users can start downloading without using a terminal. A lightweight AriaX Lite version is available on the Mac App Store as a remote controller for an aria2 service already running on another device, such as a NAS or server, over JSON-RPC.
AriaX offers browser and system integration. Its official Safari Extension lets users send downloads to AriaX from the browser, including a "Download with AriaX" option in the right-click menu. It also supports a ariax:// URL scheme for third-party apps. The app is localized in more than 10 languages, including English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, German, and French.
According to the website, AriaX does not collect download history or server credentials, and data is stored locally or in the user's private iCloud container if syncing is enabled. The project credits aria2 (GPLv2), Aria2Helper (GPLv2), and AriaNg (MIT) as its underlying components.
