AS Timer is a free, ad-free countdown timer for macOS, the little brother of AS TimerPRO. You set the desired time by scrolling with the mouse, press "start," and when the time has elapsed, a message appears on screen with a sound alarm. The app is available for free on the Mac App Store and is compatible with macOS Tahoe and Golden Gate.
The timer can also be started from the Terminal or AppleScript using bracketed options such as SetHours, SetMinutes, SetSeconds, and Start. These options can only be used when the timer is not already running; if it is, it must be closed first. The developer states that the app collects no information and contains no advertising. It is signed with an Apple certificate and sandboxed, so it has no access to documents, system resources, connected devices, networks, the Internet, the microphone, or the camera.
System requirements are macOS 10.14 or later, 4 GB RAM or more, an Intel or Apple Silicon 64-bit processor, and a graphics resolution of 1024x768 or higher. Apps downloaded from the website install by dragging the app into the Applications folder, while Mac App Store purchases install automatically.
