About
Athas is a lightweight, open-source editor that brings coding agents, a terminal, and Git/GitHub together in one workspace. It is free for macOS, Windows, and Linux and is licensed under AGPL-3.0. The editor supports Quick Open, a command palette with rebindable shortcuts, LSP completions, and diagnostics, and lets you bring your own agents such as Codex, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, and GitHub Copilot alongside your code.
Workspace features include split and nested editors and terminals that remember their layout, multi-root workspaces restored on launch, and worktrees that open each branch checkout as its own workspace. Teams can share projects, channels, and presence, and selections, buffers, and agent conversations can be shared as read-only web links.
Athas can be extended with languages, agents, databases, and themes, including TypeScript, Rust, PostgreSQL, and several color themes.
