Auto Localize is a native Mac app that reads your project, translates whatever is missing, and writes every file back the way Xcode expects. It supports String Catalogs (.xcstrings), XLIFF 1.2 and 2.0, .strings and .stringsdict, Interface Builder strings, Android strings.xml, Flutter ARB, Java .properties, .NET .resx, JSON, and more. Plurals, placeholders, HTML tags, and your glossary are respected, and translation memory reuses text you have already translated.
You choose the translation engine: Apple Intelligence (free, on-device, no key needed), your own OpenAI or Gemini API key, LM Studio or Ollama for local models, or any OpenAI-compatible service. The app has no account and no server of its own; text goes directly from your Mac to the provider you pick, and API keys are stored in your Mac's keychain. Files are backed up and changes can be undone, and a built-in review view lets you compare languages and mark AI translations as "Needs Review."
Auto Localize also covers your App Store presence. Using your own App Store Connect API key, it can translate your App Store page text, in-app purchases, and in-app events, and Screenshot Studio translates captions and exports screenshots in every required size for upload. It requires macOS 14 or later and is free to try, with a Pro subscription for AI translation with any provider, App Store Connect publishing, and screenshot exports.
