Badgeify

About

Badgeify adds app icons and notification counts to your Mac's menu bar, so you can see unread messages from apps like Messages, Apple Mail, Slack, and Microsoft Teams without switching between windows. It is designed for people who keep the Dock hidden, and it works alongside menu bar tools such as Bartender, Ice, and Hidden Bar.

You can customize how notifications appear with three badge styles (text, dot, or circle) and custom highlight colors for each app. Icons adapt to macOS light and dark modes, and they become transparent when an app has no notifications to keep the menu bar tidy. Multiple apps can be grouped under a single icon with custom names and colors, and groups can be pinned to stay visible. Apps can also be launched directly from the menu bar.

Badgeify requires macOS 11 Big Sur or later and the macOS Accessibility API permission. It needs to run in the background, and the apps you want notifications from must be open, since Badgeify reads counts from their Dock icons.
