Bartender

About

Bartender is a macOS app that gives you control over your menu bar. You can decide which menu bar items are displayed and when, so items appear only when you need them. It offers quick reveal, search, custom hotkeys, and triggers, such as showing the battery when you unplug or your VPN on public Wi-Fi. It can also work without Screen Recording permission, showing app icons instead of item images, and it is described as the first menu bar manager that works entirely without the mouse.

The app also covers appearance and organization. You can style the menu bar with glass, colour, gradients, or rounded bars, switch between menu bar profiles, adjust item spacing, and add spacers, labels, emoji, and symbols. Bartender Bar, redesigned with Liquid Glass, can be summoned by hover, click, or hotkey, and the notch-hidden items can be shown or moved into it. Custom menu bar items can be created for everyday actions, and automation is supported through Shortcuts, AppleScript, hotkeys, and Siri.

Bartender is offered as Bartender 7, a one-time purchase; Bartender Pro, a yearly subscription with a 14-day free trial; and Mega Supporter, a lifetime license that includes Bartender Pro. A 4-week unlimited trial is also mentioned, and Bartender 7 is described as built for macOS 27, with macOS 26 users directed to Bartender 6.
