About
beaTunes is an advanced music application for Windows and macOS that lets you analyze, inspect, and play songs, and create playlists. Its analysis examines your music for metadata such as tempo (BPM), key, color, segments, similarities, loudness, and acoustical fingerprints. These results also support tag lookup and acoustical duplicate detection.
For a messy collection built up over years, beaTunes works like a spellchecker for audio tags: it finds inconsistencies in your data and suggests solutions. It also functions as a player, with automatic segmentation for pop music (which requires analysis) that lets you skip sections or jump to similar-sounding parts, a feature the site calls semantic navigation.
For playlists, beaTunes can suggest songs that match a starting track and your own rules, or build a whole playlist, whether you want a mood for an evening or a pace for a run. If you just want to listen, it can play similar songs like a radio.
