About
BetterDisplay is a Mac app for managing display settings. It lets you convert displays to scalable HiDPI screens, define custom and favorite resolutions, and manage display configuration overrides. You can control brightness, color, and color modes, use XDR/HDR brightness upscaling, dim a display fully to black, and use DDC control to adjust brightness, volume, and inputs on supported displays. It can also create virtual screens, build Picture in Picture windows from your displays, and disconnect or reconnect displays on the fly, with all of this accessible from the menu bar.
The app adds a range of additional tools, including layout protection with anchor points for adaptive display arrangements, sync of brightness across multiple displays, HDMI-CEC control of compatible TVs, and macOS Shortcuts and command-line support. Users can also apply custom 3D LUTs and video filters, and protect display configuration such as resolution, refresh rate, rotation, and color profile.
BetterDisplay is available for macOS, with download versions listed for macOS 26 Tahoe through Mojave. Its feature list is split into free and Pro tiers, and the official site is betterdisplay.pro. Users are advised to download or purchase only from official pages to avoid lookalike websites.
