Bitfocus Companion

About

Bitfocus Companion is a versatile shotbox app that turns the affordable Elgato Stream Deck and similar devices into control surfaces for a wide range of equipment and applications, including presentation switchers, broadcast gear, video playback software, and home automation systems. You don't need a physical Stream Deck to use it: Companion includes a built-in Stream Deck emulator and a webpage for touch screens, and buttons can be triggered via OSC, TCP, UDP, HTTP, WebSocket, and ArtNet.

Key features include a button designer with colored text or custom images, device feedback to show button state, stacked actions to run multiple actions from one button, per-action delay times, support for multiple connected Stream Decks at once, web-based administration from any browser on the network, virtual web buttons for mobile, tablet, and browser use, and latching for separate key-down and key-up actions or toggling. A Stream Deck plugin also lets you use Companion buttons inside the native Stream Deck application.

Companion is free and open source, is brand agnostic, and is developed by a community of contributors. The website notes that it is widely used across the AV and broadcast industry and is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
