About
BitMuse is a native Mac app for bit-perfect playback, handing your audio files straight to your DAC. It shows each step of the signal path, and you can toggle exclusive or integer mode to see how the route responds. It also supports a wide range of formats, including FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, DSD, CUE sheets, MP3, AAC, Opus, and Vorbis, and it can verify the real bit depth, bandwidth, and noise floor of a file.
The app organizes your own library from local drives or a NAS, letting you browse by artist and album or walk your folder tree. It can build automatic mixes and smart playlists from your collection, with tempo, key, mood, and energy measured from the audio itself, and an Autoplay option carries the queue on with similar tracks. An optional DSP chain offers EQ, headphone profiles, room correction, crossfeed, and other effects, all off by default. BitMuse is free for 30 days, requires macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon, and costs $99.95 one-time to keep.
