Black Ink 2 is a Mac app for downloading, solving, and printing crossword puzzles. It opens any puzzle file in the Across Lite format, including puzzles from sources such as the New York Times, and offers a deluxe solving interface suited to solvers of all skill levels.
The app supports book-grade printing, so you can make a personal printed copy of any puzzle you download, for example to take along on a trip. Its visual interface includes live resizing, status markers, a streamlined puzzle chooser, and dark mode.
Black Ink's solving options are highly customizable. You can jump to unsolved squares, switch directions easily, and go directly to a clue by typing its number. The app requires macOS 10.15.4 or higher, and a free download is available with premium features unlockable within the app.
