About
Bramble is a free porn blocker for iPhone, with companion apps for Mac and Chrome. Its protection runs at four layers: on the phone itself and across every app, not only in the browser. The iPhone app is free, forever, and requires iOS 16 or later. The Chrome extension stops addresses and softens images in the page, and can cover a machine Bramble cannot be installed on, such as a work laptop. The Mac app filters the network, so anything on the Mac that opens a connection is covered, and it reads pages in Safari by content rather than by a domain list; it requires macOS 14 or later.
Bramble also includes a daily check-in, a witness who follows your progress in the app or receives a weekly note (without seeing your screens), and a Keyholder who holds the Screen Time passcode, so removing Bramble requires their help and turning protection off notifies them. The site notes that anyone who can unlock the phone can switch Screen Time off, and that Keyholder mode is the exception to this limit.
What's new
All release notesBramble now installs only block lists it can prove came from us, so a tampered list can't loosen your protection. Safari also catches more images: ones drawn on canvas, set as backgrounds, or tucked inside page components. Plus smaller fixes.
