About
Butler is a Mac app designed to ease routine everyday tasks such as controlling iTunes, opening programs and documents, switching users, and searching the web. It lets you arrange your tasks in a fully customizable configuration, where you can assign one or more triggers to each task.
Triggers include the menu bar or docklet, pop-up menus, abbreviations, hot keys, hot corners, and events. Tasks include launching applications, opening files, accessing preference panes, managing bookmarks, running AppleScripts, entering text snippets, simulating keystrokes, moving or copying files, and accelerating Spotlight, among others.
Butler requires macOS 10.13 High Sierra or newer for version 4.4.9. It is available as a free trial or for purchase at $20, and includes a 60-day money-back guarantee.
