About
ButterKit is a Mac app for App Store publishing. It lets developers capture screenshots directly from Xcode Simulator or import a folder of images (such as images generated by Fastlane), then place them in customizable 3D device frames that can be rotated to any angle. Designs can be styled with fonts, gradients, backgrounds, and templates, including panoramic backgrounds that span multiple artboards.
The app can translate screenshots and app metadata into all 50 App Store Connect localizations, keeping designs synced across languages. Finished work can be previewed on every device and in every language, then exported or uploaded directly to App Store Connect in the correct order. ButterKit also offers optional AI and MCP automation, letting agents design, update, and localize on the developer's behalf.
ButterKit is a native macOS app. Its website describes it as built on Metal for fast edits of up to 120fps, with hotkeys and offline support, and it is used by thousands of developers, design studios, and marketing agencies.
What's new
All release notes• Paste Markdown into the metadata editor. What's New, Description and Promotional Text turn it into plain text App Store Connect accepts, with bullets and links kept readable. Handy if you draft release notes in Markdown. • Pick the Capture Tool's device from the menu at the top of the panel. It no longer jumps to a different simulator when you click back into Device Hub. Thanks to Markus F for helping track this down! • New MCP tool: design_rename_artboard lets AI agents rename your artboards, keeping names safe for export filenames. • AI agents can now span a panoramic background across a row. • New Meadow Meditation template. • Cleaner canvas. Artboards get a crisp hairline edge instead of a soft shadow, and the group name sits as a fixed title. • Fixes a bug where duplicating or resizing a Header or Search Results artboard created a second, identical header in the sidebar, and the App Store Connect upload skipped it. Copies now become regular artboards, so each project keeps one Header and one Search Results. Thanks Pawel K! • Fixes a bug where saving an untitled document over MCP opened a Save dialog and stalled the agent. The agent now gets a clear error instead. Thanks Eran J! • Fixes landscape screenshots showing sideways in the Select Callout Region sheet. • Fixes canvas text shifting when you double-click to edit it. • Fixes text sizes in the inspector not matching what you see across the iPhone Duo row. • Better contrast in light mode for the selected sidebar row and the device pose tiles, with more on the way.
