About
CADCraft is an open-source computer-aided design and drafting application for macOS, Windows, Linux and FreeBSD, with a WebAssembly build for the browser. It is built in pure Rust and egui rather than a web view, and it is free to use under MIT OR Apache-2.0, with no account or subscription required.
The app is designed to feel familiar to AutoCAD users. It provides a command line with prompts, keywords, AutoComplete and coordinate entry, plus object snaps, polar tracking, ortho, layers, a Properties palette, dimensions, hatches and blocks. It reads and writes DXF files natively, opens and saves DWG files through the acadrust library, and exports to SVG, PNG and PDF. Every command is also callable by agents over MCP, a JSON control channel, or the CLI.
The project describes itself as in early, fast development. Its documented status covers drawing, modify, precision, layer, annotation, hatch and block features, with some entity types not yet preserved on save. The full parity status is tracked in the project's ROADMAP.md.
