About
Caffeine keeps your Mac from displaying the screensaver or going to sleep. It's useful when you're reading a long article, downloading a large file, listening to music, watching a video, or exporting a video. Caffeine does exactly that and not much else.
Caffeine is a single-purpose utility that runs locally on your hardware. It has no ads, subscriptions, in-app purchases, or user tracking, and you buy it once. It inherits the open-source code of a well-known 2000s-era application and adds modern security and performance. It is written in Swift and optimized for both Intel and Apple silicon (M-series) chips. It supports Dark Mode, high-resolution Retina displays, App Sandbox, and Hardened Runtime.
Caffeine keeps its resource footprint low, using about 8 MB on disk and under 20 MB of RAM in total. To get started, download it, launch it, and enjoy.
