Carbon Copy Cloner 7 (CCC) is an advanced backup and copying app for macOS, fully qualified on macOS Golden Gate. It gives users precise control over what is backed up, where it goes, and when backups run. Users can schedule backups hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or whenever changes are detected, define custom filter rules to choose what gets included or excluded, and run tasks with extras such as automatic mounting and unmounting of backup disks, shell scripts before or after backups, and chained task workflows.

CCC copies only files that have been added or modified, supports pausing and resuming backups, and can create snapshots on the backup volume so users can recover deleted files or earlier versions of files and folders. Snapshots can be searched by file name across all backups. CCC can also temporarily download cloud-only files from services such as iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Box to include them in a local backup. Backups are stored in a non-proprietary format on storage the user owns, and optional encryption is available.

For monitoring, CCC provides task audits, a dashboard of task results and upcoming runs, three levels of file verification, and notifications when backups run or need attention. Guided setup, in-app tips, and support from real staff are included, along with a household license that allows use on multiple Macs for personal, non-commercial purposes.
