About
Chronoid is a Mac app for consultants and freelancers who bill by the hour. It automatically captures the apps, websites, and documents you work on and assigns them to client projects, so you don't have to start or stop timers or reconstruct your hours from memory. It also detects idle or away time so it doesn't pollute your billable hours, and it can be set to pause outside your work hours.
When it's time to invoice, you can set an hourly rate, filter hours by client, project, or date range, and export a PDF report to attach to invoices. Visual breakdowns by client, project, and day help you see where your time goes, and you can ask questions about your time data in natural language, either inside the app or from tools like Claude Code, Claude Desktop, or Cursor via a local MCP server. Processing can run on local AI models, keeping your data on your Mac.
Chronoid also includes focus tools such as a Pomodoro timer and a website blocker for use during client work. The website describes it as requiring no account, running on macOS 14 or later, and offering a free trial.
