About
ChronoSync is professional file synchronization and backup software for Mac. It can synchronize and back up to most anything you can connect to your Mac, including select cloud services, other Macs, NAS drives, external drives, iPads, iPhones, PCs, or any device you can mount as a volume. It can also perform bootable backups to external drives connected to your Mac or to remote drives via ChronoAgent.
For connecting two Macs, the website recommends using ChronoSync together with ChronoAgent, which is sold as a $59.98 bundle that saves $10 over buying them separately. ChronoAgent runs in the background on a remote Mac and provides a direct, encrypted connection that the site describes as higher performance and more reliable than standard file sharing. The site also offers ChronoSync Express as an entry-level option for basic synchronization and backup needs, available on the App Store and Setapp.
