Cirrus

About

Cirrus is a Mac app that takes control of iCloud and helps you investigate and diagnose its problems. It can download items stored in iCloud to your Mac or evict them from local storage, so you can manage them properly. It provides full details about files and folders held in iCloud, and it can perform a test file upload, which may help unstick pending uploads. It also gives specialised access to iCloud-related log activity, though the log browser requires running Cirrus as an admin user.

The newer iCloud Browser gets information directly from iCloud, works with the Desktop & Documents Folders option, and can save detailed reports. Cirrus is offered in versions for different macOS releases, from El Capitan through Sonoma, Sequoia, Tahoe and Golden Gate, and the iCloud Browser also runs on El Capitan, except for the log feature.

Cirrus has a companion app, Bailiff, a simple menubar app that lets you evict iCloud files and folders from local storage, or download them when you want, helping keep your startup disk free of files you don't want or use.
