About
ClipBar: Pasteboard Viewer lives in the upper right corner of your Mac's menu bar and shows what is currently on your pasteboard, along with up to the last 100 previously copied items, which you can set anywhere from 1 to 100. It previews text, shows the size of an image, or displays the path of a file, and clicking it opens a popover with a larger, untruncated preview or the full image. You can also go back to and reuse earlier copied items, clear the history with a right click, set a global keyboard shortcut to open the popover, and share pasteboard content to other apps from the popover.
The app is built for privacy: it does not persistently store pasteboard content, does not connect to the Internet, includes no third-party frameworks, and is fully sandboxed. Because it displays pasteboard content on screen, sensitive information such as passwords may be visible in plain text. ClipBar shows "Concealed text" for items marked as confidential under the nspasteboard.org convention, but not every app follows it, so the site advises not relying on this alone. The app requires macOS 14.6 Sonoma or newer, is built natively for Apple Silicon, and is also compatible with older Intel Macs. It is sold as a one-time purchase with no in-app purchases or subscriptions, and support is available at support@cdf1982.com.
