About
Clockify is a free time tracking app for Mac that lets you log your hours straight from your desktop. It supports Mac OS 12.0 and higher. To get started, you create a free account, download the Mac desktop app, and start the timer with one click or keystroke. When you stop the timer, you can describe what you worked on and add a project, task, or tag, and mark the entry as billable.
The desktop app includes an auto tracker that can record which apps and websites you use, so you can later create time entries based on that activity, either individually or in bulk. Clockify notes that this data is visible only to you. Other options in Preferences include a Pomodoro timer, a default project, auto start and stop with your computer, idle detection, and reminders when you forget to start the timer. The App Store version lacks the auto tracker and idle detection, so you must download the app from the Clockify website to use those features. Once your time is logged, the web version lets you manage projects, invite team members, review timesheets, and export reports.
