About
Clop is a Mac app for optimising images, videos, PDFs and audio files. It runs automatically on anything you copy to the clipboard, reducing image sizes by up to 90% and PDF sizes by up to 80% with minimal visible quality loss. For screen recordings, it optimises the video as soon as you stop recording, and offers actions such as cropping, converting to GIF, changing speed, muting, and encoding to formats like MP4. You can also drag and drop files onto a drop zone to optimise them in place, with presets and pipelines that chain actions like downscaling, converting to WebP, watermarking or uploading. Clop also supports fitting files under a chosen size limit for chat or email attachments, converting to modern formats such as JPEG XL, WebP, AVIF, AV1 and HEVC, and integrating with Dropshare and file shelf apps. According to the site, all processing happens on your device, with no file data sent to the internet. Clop requires macOS 14.0 or later; batch mode is a Pro feature, with the free version limited to 5 files at a time.
