About
Code Composer Studio (CCS), also called CCStudio IDE, is an integrated development environment for Texas Instruments' microcontrollers, processors, wireless connectivity devices, and radar sensors. It is available as a desktop application or a cloud-based version that avoids large software downloads. Built on the Eclipse Theia framework, its interface will feel familiar to VS Code users, and TI also offers a VS Code extension package for selected devices.
The IDE integrates industry-standard AI agents and models to assist with code development, system configuration, and debugging. Integration with SysConfig lets AI agents validate changes in real time and help resolve conflicts or errors. Its interface detects connected development boards automatically and offers tailored getting-started actions. Features include optimizing C/C++ compilers (including TI Arm Clang), a source code editor, a build environment, a debugger, and a profiler, plus Resource Explorer for device-specific examples and documentation, SysConfig for configuring pins and peripherals, and EnergyTrace software for energy profiling.
For advanced debugging, CCS provides RTOS object views, execution trace, non-intrusive memory and register access, and graphical data visualization for arrays. It also includes a scripting environment for automated testing and performance benchmarking. The IDE supports most TI products in the low-power 2.4-GHz, microcontroller, microprocessor and DSP, mmWave radar, signal conditioner, and Wi-Fi categories, with product pages used to verify support for a specific device.
