About
CodeCows is a macOS app that adds hundreds of ASCII cows to your source code through an Xcode extension. The extension is context-aware, detecting whether you want a cow inside a string, within a comment, or elsewhere, and it can insert a random cow, a personalized cow-of-the-day, or one from your list of favorites. It requires Xcode 8.1 on macOS 10.12, and you can assign keyboard shortcuts to the cow commands in Xcode's Key Bindings preferences. For other text-handling apps, CodeCows also works as a regular macOS service via the Services menu.
Additional features include a "Cow of the Day" widget for macOS Notification Center, broad copy-and-paste and drag-and-drop support (for example, dragging cows into Finder or Preview), and a "Radiactive" mode that makes the cows glow in the dark. CodeCows is a native macOS Cocoa application written in Swift, and it is built on the cows and vaca modules of Sindre Sorhus.
