About
CodeExpander is a Mac app for expanding abbreviations into full text. Type a short abbreviation in any app and the full snippet, reply, or template expands in place. Snippets can be organized into tree groups with prefix inheritance, support variables filled in on demand, keep their rich-text formatting (bold, lists, links), and can be triggered by voice or found through a search bar if you forget the abbreviation.
The app also bundles screenshot capture with region, window, full screen, and scrolling modes, plus annotation tools such as blur, mosaic, and highlight. Captures can be pinned as floating windows, and text can be extracted from screenshots via OCR. A clipboard history keeps copied text, images, and files that you can search, star, and paste back.
Snippets stay on your machine by default. You can optionally sync to your own GitHub or Gitee Gist, or to WebDAV, either manually or automatically. Pricing includes a free tier, a one-time lifetime license covering up to 3 devices, and yearly plans for cloud sync.
