About
CodexBar is a macOS app that displays AI coding usage limits in the menu bar. It tracks usage windows, credit balances, and reset countdowns across the AI tools you pay for, with support for 110 providers. Per-provider session, weekly, and monthly windows show how much remains and when each resets, and credit balances and monthly spend are shown where the provider exposes them. Local cost scans are available for Codex and Claude.
The app also surfaces provider status, with incident badges in the menu and an indicator on the bar icon. A bundled command-line tool offers the same usage output for scripts, CI, and terminal checks, and WidgetKit widgets for supported providers can be placed on the Home Screen or desktop in several sizes.
CodexBar reuses existing provider sessions such as OAuth, device flow, API keys, browser cookies, and local files, and the site states that no passwords are stored on disk. It is free and open source, requires macOS 14 or later, and can be installed with Homebrew or downloaded directly.
