About
Command-Tab Plus 2 is a keyboard-centric application and window switcher for macOS, offered as an alternative to the built-in Application Switcher. It is aimed at people who keep many programs open and find switching between them slow. Features include quick switching between applications using keyboard shortcuts, and fast window switching within a selected app by pressing Z or ~ after calling the switcher. Customization options include configurable hotkeys (such as Command + Tab, Option + Tab, or any preferred shortcut), built-in or custom appearance skins, and filters for applications.
By default, the switcher shows only apps running on the current display or Space, which can be turned off in settings. It also hides inactive or hidden apps so background apps don't clutter the list. The app is built natively for both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs and requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, with compatibility stated for macOS Tahoe. A free trial is available, and the page notes that earlier versions work on macOS High Sierra (10.13) or higher.
