About
Commander is a native Mac app for working with coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex. Its core workflow is simple: pick a repo, prompt the agent, review exactly what changed in the diff, and commit what's good. Each agent run is treated as a reviewable unit, so you can see changes before they land rather than wondering what the agent touched. Commander also manages git worktrees so you can run several tasks in parallel on separate branches, supports agent profiles for switching between accounts or local and cloud models, and lets you run agents on a remote Linux machine over SSH while reviewing everything locally.
The app is built for tabs and detachable windows, keeps sessions alive across relaunches, lets you attach your own scripts to the toolbar, and includes VoiceOver and keyboard navigation support. It is described as a lightweight native Swift app of about 30 MB, not an Electron app, and it is positioned as a review loop for agent-written code rather than an IDE or terminal replacement. It is free to use, requires an installed agent CLI, and runs on macOS 15.0 or later.
