About
Copilot for Xcode is an open-source Xcode Source Editor Extension that brings GitHub Copilot, Codeium, and ChatGPT support into Xcode. It provides code suggestions, a chat feature, and modification tools, and lets you extend chat and modification with custom commands.
To use it, you install the app (via Homebrew or by downloading it manually), enable the source editor extension in System Settings, and grant it Accessibility API permission. Suggestion features require either an active GitHub Copilot subscription (with Node installed to run the Copilot language server) or a Codeium account. Chat and prompt-to-code features require a valid OpenAI API key or access to other LLMs. An internet connection is required.
The project is MIT licensed, has about 8.2k stars on GitHub, and includes documentation on setup, key bindings, and development.
