About
CoreLocationCLI gets the physical location of your device and prints it to standard output, and if you move it can also print your updated location until you stop it with CTRL-C. It supports single-shot and continuous (--watch) output, verbose debugging output, a custom --format string built from specifiers such as %latitude, %longitude, %altitude, %h_accuracy, %address, and %timeZone, and a --json mode that prints all available information as a JSON object. The default output is latitude and longitude. On macOS, Wi-Fi must be turned on, or you will see kCLErrorDomain error 0.
The tool is installed with Homebrew via "brew install --cask corelocationcli" or built from source. The Homebrew cask installs the notarized GitHub release; if Gatekeeper reports the app is from an unidentified developer, the copy is not that release and must be approved in System Settings under Privacy & Security. The project is described as a simple tool for getting a device's location, intended to be composed with other tools or used for testing and logging. The source is MIT-licensed and written in Swift.
