About
Cotypist is a Mac app that predicts your next words as you type, in whatever app you're already using, such as Apple Mail, Slack, Notion, Obsidian, or your browser. Suggestions appear inline, and you press Tab to accept the next word or the whole line. If a suggestion isn't what you meant, you can simply keep typing, and it will usually update to the word you wanted within a letter or two. The app also catches typos and offers fixes inline, and it can suggest emoji when you type a colon followed by a shortcode.
According to the site, Cotypist runs entirely on Apple Silicon Macs, with all processing done locally and no account required. It learns your vocabulary, names, and phrasing over time, and the site claims it can reduce typing by up to 50%. It is currently Mac-only, with a Windows or Linux version being gauged through a waitlist. Pricing per the site: free to download with a 30-day Pro trial, then a free plan, with no credit card required.
