About
cpuinfo is a tiny macOS menu bar app that shows live CPU usage as a compact meter. The meter fills green when the machine is mostly idle and shifts toward orange and red as load rises. Clicking the meter opens its options.
The app offers a per-core equalizer view (the default), with one vertical bar per logical core, as well as an overall meter, a slim pill that fills left to right with total CPU usage. An optional percentage readout can be shown next to the bar. The meter adapts to light and dark system appearance and comes in a default color theme and a monochrome B/W theme. The update interval is adjustable from 0.1 seconds up to 30 seconds. The app can also start at login and includes a shortcut to open Activity Monitor.
cpuinfo requires macOS 10.13 or later and is written in Swift. The project includes a Makefile that wraps xcodebuild for building, testing, and packaging. The released build is not notarized, so on first launch Gatekeeper may block it; users can right-click the app and choose Open, or clear the quarantine flag as described in the project's instructions.
