About
Crest is a browser for Mac, iPad, and iPhone, built for people moving on from Arc. Its organization is centered on a sidebar that works as the main navigation, with Spaces for grouping your browsing, pinned tabs and folders for keeping things in order, and a command palette for quick access. Features like Split View and Peek let you view pages alongside each other or preview them without losing your place. Crest also includes Crest Studio, which lets you customize a Space's sidebar side, tab shape, and colors with a live preview.
For users switching over, Crest offers an import tool that brings in Spaces, tabs, folders, and bookmarks from Arc, Zen, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, with each Space reviewed before anything is moved. It runs on Chromium and WebKit engines, supports Chrome extensions, and provides features such as private Spaces with an optional Face ID or Touch ID lock, per-Space passwords stored in the Keychain, on-device page translation, and rebindable keyboard shortcuts. Spaces, tabs, and folders can sync across devices through iCloud.
Crest is currently in early access, and its security has not been independently audited. It is licensed under MPL 2.0 and is not affiliated with Arc. The app can be downloaded from the Mac App Store or on iPhone and iPad, and its source code is available on GitHub.
