About
Dash is an API documentation browser and code snippet manager for the Mac. It gives you instant offline access to 200+ documentation sets, along with 100+ cheat sheets, and it searches them quickly, with fuzzy matching. You can choose which documentation sets to download, and Dash keeps them up to date. You can also generate your own docsets from websites or local HTML files, or download docsets from third-party sources, including package indexes such as Swift Packages, Ruby Gems, Python Packages, and Rust Crates.
Dash's snippet manager lets you save code templates, boilerplate, and frequently typed text, organized with tags and syntax highlighting for 150+ languages. Snippets support variable placeholders, including special placeholders for the clipboard, cursor, date, and time. Typing a short abbreviation in any app expands it into the full snippet. Dash also integrates with many editors, IDEs, and launchers, including Xcode, Alfred, Raycast, and Visual Studio Code, and supports MCP so AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT can access its documentation.
Other features include full-text search, keyboard shortcuts, smart search profiles, documentation bookmarks, dark mode, and the option to show or hide the Dock and menu bar icons.
