About
Davit is a native Mac app for Apple's container platform that lets you run Linux containers and manage your stack without wrangling. It talks directly to Apple's open-source container daemon over XPC, with no Electron, web views, or background agents of its own, and Docker Desktop isn't required. You can start, stop, restart, and delete containers, view live CPU, memory, and IP stats, stream logs, inspect raw config, open a terminal in any running container, browse and transfer files, and use Edit & Recreate to change ports, environment variables, mounts, or resources. Davit also imports docker-compose.yml files with a preview of the plan, builds images from a Dockerfile via Apple's BuildKit, manages images, volumes, and networks, and stores registry logins in your keychain. It is free, open source under the MIT license, and requires macOS 15+ on Apple Silicon. Note that Davit is a UI for Apple's container platform rather than a Docker-compatible daemon, so tools that depend on the Docker socket or Docker API are not supported yet, though standard OCI images work.
