About
dbvr is a lightweight, standalone command-line tool for running database operations in headless and terminal-first environments. It brings core database management capabilities to servers, containers, and scripted workflows without any graphical interface, letting DevOps engineers, DBAs, and backend teams run SQL scripts, checks, and exports from the command line, locally, over SSH, or inside CI/CD pipelines.
The tool offers a single CLI that works across multiple SQL and NoSQL databases, so teams do not need to maintain separate CLIs per database engine. As a standalone binary with no GUI overhead, it starts quickly, uses minimal resources, and fits naturally into shell scripts and pipelines. dbvr can execute SQL queries and scripts, export query results in common formats to cloud file systems such as S3, GCS, or Azure Storage, and integrate into CI/CD pipelines for automated database checks. It also supports native authentication for AWS, GCP, and Azure databases.
dbvr is designed for environments where a GUI is unavailable or impractical. It is aimed at IT and platform teams, development and data teams, and leadership roles. It is licensed per machine on an annual subscription, which includes product usage, version updates, and technical support, and a 14-day trial is available.
