About
DeckCraft is an open-source presentation and slide show app, a clean-room reimplementation of Microsoft PowerPoint written in pure Rust. It is currently in alpha and runs natively on macOS, Windows, Linux and FreeBSD, as well as in the browser. Users can build decks using slide masters, eleven layouts, and eight original themes, and can draw with 150+ preset shapes, connectors, and merge-shape operations. Text editing, pictures, tables, charts, and audio and video support are included, along with transitions, animations, and a full-screen slide show with presenter view.
DeckCraft can open and save .pptx files and export to PDF, PNG, JPEG, and animated GIF. Unsaved work is protected by AutoRecover. Every action is also a command, so the app can be driven from a CLI, a JSON control channel, or an MCP server for AI agents. The project is licensed under Apache-2.0 and MIT, and is part of the ArtCraft Crafting Apps.
