DeskMat is a Mac app that covers your desktop so you can work, stream, or present without visible files and folders. With the push of a button, it instantly hides everything on your Desktop. You can also hide or show individual files, folders, or file types such as images, videos, presentations, and spreadsheets. DeskMat works with Focus modes and app triggers so the desktop is covered automatically, can mirror your dynamic wallpaper, and supports AppleScript automation. It requires macOS 13 Ventura or newer and is available in several languages.
DeskMat is a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store or from the developer's website, with the same functionality in both versions. A trial is available, and the app is also part of the ESS Productivity Bundle on the Mac App Store. Users can choose what appears behind the cover, including their current wallpaper, a solid color, a custom image, or a blurred desktop. The toggle button can be placed in the menu bar, on screens, or hidden entirely, and with multiple displays you can cover all desktops or just one.
