About
Desktop Composer lets you save your Mac's appearance as profiles that bundle wallpaper, light or dark mode, accent and icon colors, Dock and menu bar behavior, Stage Manager, and themes for supported apps such as Xcode, Obsidian, VS Code, and Terminal. Activate any profile with one click from the menu bar, schedule profiles by time of day, or update a single option within a profile without affecting the rest.
The app also integrates with Focus Filters, Spotlight, Apple Shortcuts, and AppleScript, and offers an API. Settings can be disabled globally or per profile, and profiles sync across your devices through your private iCloud account, with automatic backups included. Desktop Composer requires macOS 26 or newer and is sold as a one-time purchase covering the current major version, with no subscription.
According to the site, the app does not collect personal data or usage analytics, and it is available through Setapp and direct purchase but not the Mac App Store, due to sandboxing restrictions. The developer notes that because macOS and third-party apps may change, not every feature is guaranteed to keep working through future updates.
