About
DeviceShelf is a network scanner for macOS, Windows, and Linux that gathers what you need to know about the devices on your network in one view: IP address, hostname, vendor, device type, open ports, availability, and risks. Scans detect devices automatically, you can click any device to see its IP, name, services, and history, and search the whole inventory by IP address, name, or vendor. Unknown devices can be identified from their network signals, and an AI key can be used to suggest a name and role for them.
The app keeps a record over time, so you can check what has changed since the last scan, see when a device was last reachable, and review its availability and outages. It also includes a vulnerability check that reads service banners and versions, matches known CVEs, and offers plain-language fixes, along with live per-device bandwidth. Everything runs locally on your machine, with no account and no credit card needed for the 7-day free trial. It is a one-time payment of €59 with no subscription.
A 24/7 server edition is also included in the same license, along with mobile apps, and it offers an MCP server so AI agents such as Claude or Cursor can query your own scan data and run diagnostics on request.
