About
Discord Canary is a Mac app for hanging out with friends through group chat, voice, and video. The website describes Discord as a place to play games, chill, and build community, with customizable spaces where you can talk, play, and hang out. Users can add personality to their chats with custom emoji, stickers, soundboard effects, an avatar, a custom status, and a profile.
The platform emphasizes high-quality, low-latency streaming for sharing games, shows, photos, or other activities with friends. Users can hop in and out of voice or text chats without calling or inviting anyone, and can see which friends are online, playing games, or hanging out. For supported games, they can see friends' modes or characters and join directly. Group chats also include built-in games, music, and videos.
Discord is also available across PC, phone, and console, so users can switch between devices and manage multiple group chats.
